Iraqi war survivor Amar Kanim was the boy who made a miraculous
recovery after the Gulf War conflict in the 1990s nearly took his life. He
eventually came to settle in England and receive specialist surgery. But
behind the headlines of war and survival, young Amar grew up in the
Devon countryside where he discovered a love of fishing, catching both
sea and freshwater fish. Angling Trust’s Dominic Garnett visited
Amar – read his remarkable story in this Lines on the Water blog.
