Mark Lloyd to leave Angling Trust & Fish Legal this summer after 10 years as Chief Executive
The Angling Trust & Fish Legal are to recruit a new Chief Executive following the appointment of Mark Lloyd as the new CEO of The Rivers Trust. Mark will be leaving this summer to take up his new role leading the umbrella charity for more than 60 member river trusts, working to protect, promote and enhance freshwater ecosystems.
Mark has headed up the Angling Trust & Fish Legal for 10 years and oversaw the historic unification of angling organisations in 2009. Mark said: “I’d like to thank everyone who has supported the Angling Trust & Fish Legal over the past decade and I am confident that both organisations are well-placed to continue growing to meet the challenges for fish and fishing long into the future.”  Read the full story
Apply now for a share of £100,000 to protect fisheries
Another £100,000 of fishing licence income is being made available to angling clubs and fisheries based in England through the Angling Improvement Fund. The money will be focused on funding measures to protect fish stocks from predation. The Angling Trust, which administers the fund in partnership with the Environment Agency, is seeking applications by 4th July. Find out how to apply
Clubs and fisheries – save £5,000 on new wheelyboat
The deadline for clubs and fisheries to apply for a new wheelyboat has been extended until 31st May. The Angling Trust has joined forces with The Wheelyboat Trust to part-fund seven new wheelyboats, specially adapted for wheelchair users. It means the cost of a new wheelyboat will be discounted by £5,000. Find out more
